24th Panaad sa Negros Festival Schedule of Events

Panaad sa Negros, considered as "Mother of all Festivals" of all idividual festival from 13 cities and 19 towns and municipalities of Negros Island. The word "Panaad" came from Hiligaynon word means "vow or promise" in celebration and thanksgiving for Divine Providence. This years theme "Shinning bright @ 24" Panaad sa Negros is celebrating its 24th year of prosperity.

How it Started


It started it all on 1993 where the first celebration of the festival was held on Capitol Park and Lagoon. From 1993 to 1997 the festival were held on the same place not until the next year it was moved on now its called home to acomodate fast growing visitors across the country and all over the world. Since then the event is the crowd drawer that added tourism to the Negros Island. In 2008 it was awarded as Best Tourism Event ( Provincial Level) by Department of Tourism and the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines ( DOT-ATOP ). The 25 hectares Panaad Park and Stadium is not only a venue for local and international concert but also a sports hub, food zone of organic products in Negros.It also houses replicas of city halls and municipal halls of all the cities and municipalities acros the province which intricately designed. Each replicas depicts the rich culture, abundance and sweetness of life in Negros Province.

What to expect


This year the Panaad Festival will open its door to the public on March 31 with several activities lined up all over the day including the most anticipated presentations of festivals. Such as, Hugyaw Kansilay Festival of Silay City awarded as Best Tourism by DOT-ATOP. Also on the list is the Sinulog Festival of Kabankalan, multi awarder Pintaflores Festival of San Carlos City, Babayalan Festival of Bago, Escalante city's Manlambus, last year champion Bailes de Luces of La Castellana, very well known Mudapac of Mambucal and many more.!

21 LGU's of Negros Island will compete for the Best in festival Dance Competition. The champion will take home 50,000 pesos and 40,000, 30,000, 20,000, 10,000 respectivley to the consolation prizes. Bacolod's pride Masskara Festival will participate but only as guest performer.

How to get there


From Bacolod-Silay Airport you can take a taxi to the town prope of Silay. From Silay you can take a jeepney or Ceres Bus to the North Terminal. Then find the Bata-Libertad route and drop by the down town area of Bacolod City. You can the any locals in the area in where the Mansilingan route is. After finding it, just tell the driver to drop you to Panaad Park. You can also ride in a taxi from Bacolod to Panaad Park if you don't want to get lost and feel ease. But considering you want to save, just use the first instruction.
