Ilo-ilo Dinagyang 2018 Schedule of Activities
Ilo-ilo is known for its colorful Dinagyang Festival which held every 2nd week of January in honor of Senior Sto. Niño. Dinagyang is a version of Ati-atihan which is celebrated in Panay and some parts of the country. Ilo-ilo Dinagyang is known for its impressive choreography and striking costumes which reflects the ingenuity, craftsmanship and artistry of the Ilonggos. January next year will be the 50th year of the renowned Dinagyang Festival. The festival is expected to be grandiose said Alex Soncio. The Dinagyang festival started in 1967 when the replica of the image of the Sto. Niño ( Child Jesus ) was brought from Cebu to San Jose parish.
